Hot Springs National Park Quarter

The first release of new America the Beautiful Quarter series was the 2010 Hot Springs National Park Quarter. This location will be featured first based on its establishment as a national reservation in 1832, which pre-dates the establishment of the first national park.
The reverse design for the quarter depicts the door of the Hot Springs National Park headquarters building with a fountain in the foreground. The building was completed in 1936 in the Spanish colonial revival style. Inscriptions around the outer edge of the coin include "Hot Springs", "Arkansas", "E Pluribus Unum", and the date "2010". The obverse of the coin features a portrait of George Washington.
Hot Springs National Park became a national reservation in 1832 under President Andrew Jackson to preserve the area's natural beauty. Today it is one of the oldest federally designated sites in the country and is a popular destination for vacation and relaxation.
The Hot Springs Quarter was released into circulation on April 19, 2010. A launch ceremony was held at the park on April 20, 2010.
